About this forum

Convertible Owners Forum opened in June 2025 for people whose car has a roof that goes away. Corvette C8 and C7 convertibles, Mustang and Camaro verts, Miatas of every generation, the BMW folding hardtops, Boxsters, and the occasional 1960s rag top that has not gone down in decades. If the roof opens, you belong here.

The forum is member run. It is looked after by Paula R., who posts as mod_paula_r. Paula spent 22 years as a service advisor at a Chevrolet store in Lakewood, Colorado, and has written up more convertible top and weatherstrip repair orders than she can count. She drives a 2008 MX-5 with the power retractable hardtop and takes it over Guanella Pass whenever the road is open. She reads the contact mailbox herself, so be patient in ski season.

House rules

• Give the year, the model and the top type (soft top, folding hardtop, removable panel) in your first post. Half the answers depend on it.
• Say what you paid when you post a purchase. Buying stories without numbers get a polite note from a mod.
• No selling cars inside threads. Linking a public listing to make a point is fine.
• If you work for a dealer, a shop, a broker or an auction, say so once in your posts. Employees posing as owners get removed.
• Be decent. The soft top people and the hardtop people have to share this place.
• Mods move or merge posts to keep threads on topic and leave a note when they do. Nothing gets deleted quietly.
• Accounts are by email request until the spam is under control.

What this is not

This is not a dealer, a parts store or a service manual. When someone here gives you a torque spec, a fluid type or a top adjustment, check it against the factory information for your car before you trust your roof to it.
